Nectarines are probably my favorite fruit. I cannot think of one dessert that wouldn’t be enhanced by delicious slices of sweet nectarines! My favorite way to enjoy them is baked in oatmeal and on top of fresh summer salads! They are also the perfect snack during a mid-day sweet craving as they are very hydrating and curb any sweet tooth!

Nectarines are a good source of natural fiber, which smooths the digestive tract, allowing for easier bowl movements.
· They are high in vitamin C, an immune boosting vitamin that is especially important if you are feeling under the weather.
· Many of the antioxidants in nectarines are found in their skin. Vitamin C is one that helps inhibit free radicals, minimizing the effects of aging and other chronic diseases!
· They also contain many minerals including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, iron and zinc. These are essential for supporting bone and nervous system health.
Season to buy: Summer – this is when nectarines in the US will be the most affordable and at their peak taste.
Shelf Life: 3-4 days on the countertop
