Avocados are one of my favorite foods! I manage to eat an avocado everyday as they are so delicious, creamy and versatile enough to fit almost any dish. I love them simply mixed with lime juice and tomatoes, whipped into a cream for a pasta sauce, creamed with cacao powder for a chocolate mousse, or smashed as a side and spread onto any roasted vegetable! They are also filled with vitamin E, fantastic for clear, glowing skin!

· Because of its creamy texture, avocados are also a great food to give to children, as it is soft to the bite and full of nutrients!
Season to buy: Spring - this is when avocados in the US will be the most affordable and at their peak taste.
Shelf life: 3-5 days on the countertop and ripe when the stem is pulled off and the skin underneath is brown.
